ABOUT

My name is Alex Smith-O’Shea (BA M.Arch ARB). I'm a Sheffield based architect delivering projects in the residential sector, mainly for private homeowner clients.

Following 10 years of working for practices in London; designing and building residential projects varying in size from a single house up to a 600-home development; I moved back to my home town of Sheffield and started self employed architecture work.

I strive for a close working relationship with my clients. I carefully listen to the client’s thoughts and requirements and I aim to provide a transparent, high quality service throughout the design and construction process. My view is that homeowner clients can gain fulfilment from the process as well as the final product and I aim to support them in this journey.

Through a pragmatic approach to design and considerate interpretation of the unique nature of each project I create buildings which are fit for purpose. I enjoy problem solving and considering options to make sure we get the best possible outcome.

I am able to take on projects including single new-build houses, small developments of multiple homes, house extensions, conversions of existing buildings into flats, loft conversions, garage conversions, garden offices, landscape and planting design.

I can also provide stand alone architectural drawing packages for clients, contractors and developers.
